The Witch House, also known as the Jonathan Corwin House, stands as the only structure directly tied to the witch trials that is still standing today. Built in the 17th century, this eerie house was once the residence of Judge Jonathan Corwin, who played a crucial role in the witch trials of 1692. Something peculiar happened during our visit. As we explored the lower kitchen floors, At one point, a woman captured electromagnetic energy on an EMF reader.

While a logical explanation may exist, the timing was undoubtedly eerie, adding an unexpected layer of spookiness to our encounter.

Embarking on a whimsical journey through the charming town of Salem, our RV adventure took an enchanting turn as we delved into the iconic filming locations of the beloved movie "Hocus Pocus." Join us as we share the magical moments and nostalgic encounters that brought the world of witches, black cats, and spellbinding adventures to life.

Max, Dani and Allison's House

Our first stop on this magical quest was the quaint house located at 4 Ocean Avenue, Salem, which served as the residence of Max Dennison, Dani Dennison, and Allison in "Hocus Pocus."

Nestled in a picturesque Salem neighborhood, the familiar facade instantly transported us to the nostalgic realm of the Sanderson sisters. As we posed on the doorstep and recreated iconic scenes, it felt as though the magic of the movie lingered in the air.

Allison's House Party Location

Our next stop was the site of Allison's Halloween party in the movie, which is located at 318 Essex Street, Salem. Though the house has undergone changes since the filming, the spirit of the festive gathering lingered. Imagining the lively scene from the film, we felt a connection to the spirited celebration that unfolded on screen.

Max and Dani's Trick-or-Treating Route

Recreating Max and Dani's trick-or-treating adventure was a delightful experience as we strolled through the same neighborhoods featured in the movie. The houses adorned with Halloween decorations added an extra layer of charm, making it easy to envision the Sanderson sisters' mischievous antics in pursuit of children's souls.

Hocus Pocus Merchandise Shops: Our magical journey wouldn't be complete without a visit to the charming shops in Salem offering a variety of Hocus Pocus-themed merchandise.

The main hub for such merchandise is located at 112 Essex Street, Salem. From T-shirts and mugs to replicas of the Sanderson sisters' spell book, these shops allowed us to take a piece of the movie magic home with us.

Thackery Binx's Grave

Okay so we DID NOT make our way to the Old Burial Hill, located at Charter Street, Salem, where the grave of Thackery Binx, the immortal black cat, is situated.

Surrounded by centuries-old tombstones, the setting is also where Max peddles across a spooky crimson leaf filled graveyard in the first part of the movie to get away from

Jay and 'Ice'. We are told that Old Burial Hill evokes both a sense of history and a supernatural vibe. We will be back next time!

As we bid farewell to Salem, we carried with us the magic of Hocus Pocus, grateful for the opportunity to step into the bewitched world that has captured the hearts of fans for generations.

(SIDE NOTE: So something weird happened with the footage we took in Salem. We thought we lost it and for weeks we wrote it off as being gone forever. Then, a few days before Halloween, it reappeared. Plus, during the editing process, our computer kept crashing repeatedly and making strange changes to the timeline. Spooky or what?)
